Avionics Pioneer Recognized for Dedication, Expertise and Outstanding Contributions to the Business Aviation Industry

ORLANDO, FL —1 NOVEMBER 2016—TrueNorth Avionics —“We are extremely pleased to recognize Bill Arsenault from Mid-Canada Mod Center with a lifetime achievement award,” said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth CEO at the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA BACE) in Orlando, FL. Mr. Arsenault will be honored today at TrueNorth’s Booth (664) at approximately 15:10 local time.

“TrueNorth and Mid-Canada Mod-Center have significant accomplishments together and this is due, in no small part, to Bill’s sustained relationship with us,” said van Berkel. “We celebrated ten years in business this year, and continue striving to make connectivity more effective for business aviation. I’m pleased that Bill and his team have been an active part in this pursuit.

The two companies have similar philosophies when it comes to doing business—the creation of true business partnerships that share the same vision: a customer driven focus on quality, and true customer service. Over the last ten years, Mid-Canada Mod Center and TrueNorth have developed a strong and open business relationship, resulting in a number of firsts. Arsenault’s team was first to install and certify both the Simphonē Chorus and Optelity Pro cabin communications systems. The company also certified the Simphonē FANS-1/A+ Data Link Unit (DLU) on a Falcon 50, Airbus A310, and most recently on a Challenger 604. The DLU is TrueNorth’s hugely successful—and the only FAA, CAN and EASA TSO’d C159a for FANS over Iridium—flight deck communications system.

“We were one of the first companies to install TrueNorth Simphonē equipment and in all the years of dealing with TrueNorth Avionics, our collective focus has never wavered,” explains Arsenault. “TrueNorth doesn’t just pay lip service to this philosophy, they act on it. We believe in their products and we continue to work together to explore new ideas as they grow their product line and offerings. I am deeply honored to accept this award. It is refreshing to have a relationship with an OEM like TrueNorth Avionics who shares our long term values and shares in the success.”

In 2007, van Berkel approached Mid-Canada Mod Center regarding an installation of the company’s then newly developed Simphonē cabin communications system. Remembers van Berkel; “I recall going down to Mississauga to meet Bill to tell him about TrueNorth and our new communications system. It was a big step for us at the time, and we appreciated Bill and his team’s willingness to give our equipment and us a try.”

Like van Berkel, Arsenault, VP and general manager at Mid-Canada Mod Center was attracted to aviation from an early age. “Like many in this industry it was the parental influence that first drove me into aviation. Having grown up in the aviation business, I was frequently going to the airport with my dad. I then had the privilege of attending the first Transport Canada recognized avionics program at Centennial College, in Toronto, more than 40 years ago.”
